Gas Ranges/Ovens


Make sure the burners are cleaned and not clogged. Pilotless models are not easy to test and to find out what is defective.  Call a professional if your burners aren’t working.

Check and make sure oven igniter is not weak or burned out by checking to see if it glows at all.  If it doesn’t replace the igniter. 

Check and make sure broil igniter is not weak or burned out by checking to see if it glows at all.  If it doesn’t replace the igniter. 


Electric Ranges/Ovens


If element is only working partially or not at all, it might be burned out receptacle.  Replace both receptacle and the element.

Check the infinite switch (located behind control panel) Replace if defective.

Ovens and broilers not working should have their heating element repaired if they are defective. 


Range hoods


If range hood has a fan only and no light or other feature, check to make sure the fan switch isn’t broken.  Replace if broken.
